Teamm8 is an Australian men's underwear and swimwear brand founded in Sydney in 2008 by creative director Michal Nicolas. It started as a small operation and within two years had grown into a flagship store in Surry Hills — one of Sydney's most culturally distinct neighbourhoods — where it still trades from a landmark corner position. What is the Teamm8 Glide collection?
Glide is Teamm8's featherlight micro range — the most minimal underwear the brand has made. It is cut from a recycled nylon and spandex blend with genuine four-way stretch, and finished with a slim 1cm logo waistband instead of the wide band Teamm8 uses elsewhere. The result is underwear designed to disappear: no bulk, no visible line, and a fit that holds its shape through the day. Two styles, three colourways, sizes S to XL.

What styles does the Teamm8 Glide range come in?
Two. The Glide Micro Thong pairs a compact pouch with a fine string back and a matching 1cm waistband — as close to wearing nothing as underwear gets, with just enough support to stay put. The Glide Micro Brief is the sports brief stripped back to essentials: a micro cut with clean lines, minimal fabric and no bulk under clothing. Both come in all three Glide colourways.

What colors is Teamm8 Glide available in?
Three: Boysenberry, a deep berry tone that is the boldest of the set without shouting about it; Onyx, a true black that works under anything; and Flint, a cool understated grey. Each color is available in both the Micro Thong and the Micro Brief, in sizes S to XL.

What is Teamm8 Glide made from?
81% recycled nylon and 19% spandex. Recycled nylon has a smoother, lighter hand than standard microfibre and holds color well, while the spandex content gives the fabric real four-way stretch so it moves with you rather than resisting you. It is a lighter, silkier fabric than the M8 Bamboo range and a smoother, more opaque finish than the Score & Allure sheer mesh — the choice if you want minimal coverage without the transparency.

Is the Teamm8 Glide Micro Thong true to size?
Yes — Glide runs true to size across S to XL on Teamm8's usual low-rise, form-fitting cut. The coverage is deliberately minimal, so if you have not worn a micro thong before, expect noticeably less fabric than a standard brief; the fit itself will still be correct at your normal size. If you are between sizes and prefer more room, size up.

How do I wash Teamm8 Glide underwear?
Machine wash cold with similar colors, tumble dry low, and no chlorine bleach. Recycled nylon is durable stuff, but keeping it away from high heat protects both the stretch and the depth of the color — particularly worth doing with the Boysenberry.

The M8 Bamboo is Teamm8's most comfort-focused range — briefs, sports briefs and trunks made from a 95% bamboo, 5% spandex blend. It's the softest underwear in the Teamm8 range and a genuine step up from cotton or synthetic alternatives. Available in Charcoal and Desert, with a subtle tonal Combat print running through each style.

Why is bamboo underwear better than cotton?
Bamboo has four genuine advantages over cotton. The fibre structure is naturally smoother, so it feels softer against skin. It contains a natural bio-agent that inhibits odour-causing bacteria, meaning it stays fresher for longer between washes. It's highly breathable and moisture-wicking, regulating temperature better than cotton in both warm and cool conditions. And bamboo grows rapidly without pesticides, using a fraction of the water that conventional cotton farming requires — making it a more sustainable choice.

What styles does the M8 Bamboo collection come in?
Three cuts: the M8 Bamboo Brief (a classic low-rise brief — clean, minimal, and built for all-day comfort), the M8 Bamboo Sports Brief (engineered for active support, works equally well at the gym or on the commute), and the M8 Bamboo Trunk (a longer-leg cut with the same bamboo softness and good coverage). All three are available in Charcoal and Desert.

What are the Charcoal and Desert colourways like?
Charcoal is a dark, versatile neutral — the everyday essential that works under anything. Desert is a warm earthy tone, considered and understated. Both carry a subtle tonal Combat print that adds visual interest without being loud about it.

The Flex collection

What is the Teamm8 Flex collection?
The Flex collection is Teamm8's play and display range — jockstraps, briefs and harnesses made from vegan PU leather with a soft polyester and spandex inner lining. It's bold, tactile, and designed for men who want underwear that makes a statement. The 60mm wide tonal stripe waistband carries a rubberised Teamm8 logo, and the jockstrap features 25mm back straps for solid support. Available in Black plain leather, Saddle Brown, and Bronze and Army Green python-skin finishes.

How do I care for the Flex vegan leather underwear?
The outer PU leather needs spot cleaning only — use a damp cloth and mild soap and do not put it in the washing machine or leave it to soak. The interior should be gently hand washed with mild soap and laid flat to dry. Do not tumble dry. Treating the outer carefully will preserve the finish and keep the leather supple.

Is the Flex collection comfortable to wear?
The outer is PU leather, so it's a different wearing experience to fabric underwear — more structured and tactile. The inner lining is 95% polyester and 5% spandex, which is soft against the skin. It's designed for wear rather than all-day comfort, and most customers treat it accordingly.

Sizing and fit

What sizes does Teamm8 come in?
The full Teamm8 range at BANG&STRIKE is available in S through XL. Teamm8 fits run true to size with a low-rise, form-fitting cut — the brand is Australian and sizes are consistent with standard sizing. If you're between sizes and prefer more room, size up. As a guide, S fits a 30–32in waist, M 32–34in, L 34–36in and XL 36–38in.

Which Teamm8 range is the most minimal?
Glide. The Glide Micro Thong is the smallest cut Teamm8 makes — a compact pouch, a fine string back and a 1cm waistband — with the Glide Micro Brief a step up in coverage but still cut noticeably shorter and slimmer than the M8 Bamboo or Score briefs. If you want minimal coverage but not sheer fabric, Glide is the range to start with.

Is Teamm8 swimwear true to size?
Yes — the Statement Bikini Swim Brief runs true to size. The 3.5cm hip cut is genuinely minimal so if you're new to low-rise swimwear, your standard size will fit correctly but the coverage will be less than you might be used to. That's the design intent — it's cut to be seen rather than hidden.
