Modus Vivendi Abstract
Sheer Mesh Underwear For Men
Strings attached. Boundaries dissolved. The Abstract collection is sheer mesh underwear reimagined as art — an open-weave net fabric that's tactile, semi-transparent and unmistakably bold. Shot in Greece by @p2creativestudio, this is as much editorial as it is underwear.
Sheer and mesh underwear swaps solid cotton or microfibre for an open-weave, semi-transparent fabric — trading full coverage for a second-skin fit and a more revealing silhouette. It's one of the fastest-growing categories in men's underwear right now, and it's exactly where Modus Vivendi's Abstract line lives: fine open-weave net construction, made in Greece, built around a striking abstract stripe print.
We've sold men's underwear since 2006 and stock the full current Modus Vivendi range, made in the brand's own factory in Thessaloniki. Here's what the Abstract line is, how it fits, and how it compares to the other sheer and mesh styles we carry — or jump straight to the full sheer & mesh edit.
What Is Sheer Mesh Underwear?
"Mesh" usually describes the open-weave fabric itself; "sheer" describes how transparent the finished piece looks. BANG&STRIKE carries the trend across three brands, each with its own take on it — for the full breakdown of where both fabrics actually came from and how they compare, read mesh vs sheer underwear: what's actually different.
Fine open-weave net construction, semi-transparent, Greek-made. The boldest of the three, built around striking abstract stripe prints.
Shop Modus Vivendi →Dual-layer mesh with a cotton-lined pouch (Switch), or alternating sheer/opaque woven stripes (Whisper) for a subtler reveal.
Shop PUMP! Whisper →Sheer panel inserts on a structured sports-brief base, for anyone who wants sheer detailing without going fully transparent.
Shop TEAMM8 Score Sheer →The Abstract line is built around Modus Vivendi's signature open-weave sheer mesh fabric — a fine net construction that subtly reveals while enhancing your natural shape. Available across four silhouettes in Brown and Charcoal.

Low-rise with a fine open-weave net front, the Abstract Brief is the most versatile way into the line — sheer enough to make a statement, structured enough to hold its shape underneath tailoring or on its own. Finished with the sewn rubber Modus Vivendi logo at the waistband.

Inspired by the classic low-rise, square-cut Brazilian boxer, this is the boldest silhouette in the Abstract line — soft, elasticated mesh carrying the same illusional stripe print, cut for a body-conscious fit rather than coverage.

The most revealing cut in the range — minimal coverage at the back, the same semi-transparent open-weave net at the front. Popular for warm weather, going-out, and anyone who simply prefers the cut over a standard brief.

The newest addition to the line: the Abstract Net low-rise brief and thong, paired together in Charcoal — two pieces from the same fabric run, so you can wear either, or both, without breaking the print.
"Ropes. Marionette strings. A man suspended between surrender and strength."

The Fabric
Soft, elasticated mesh with a second-skin feel and an all-over abstract illusional stripe print. Semi-transparent by design — sheer enough to reveal, structured enough to hold its shape. A sewn rubber Modus Vivendi logo finishes the waistband.
Hand wash in warm water with a mild detergent, turn inside out first, and air dry away from direct heat. Skip the tumble dryer — mesh fabric loses its recovery fast in the heat.
Sizing & Fit
Low-rise and body-conscious across all four styles, sized S–XL. Because sheer mesh has less structure than solid fabric, it runs slightly closer to the body than a standard brief — check the size guide against your own measurement rather than your usual underwear size.
How To Wear Sheer Mesh
Sheer and mesh pieces work best as a deliberate style statement rather than an everyday basic — think going-out, warm-weather, or worn under something equally minimal. Charcoal reads as the more versatile of the two Abstract colourways; Brown pairs naturally with warmer skin tones and tan.
If Abstract's transparency is bolder than you're after, PUMP!'s Whisper line offers the same sheer idea with more coverage, or TEAMM8's Score Sheer swaps full mesh for sheer inserts on a structured base.
