Q&A WITH LOGAN SWIECKI TAYLOR

You will have undoubtedly caught sight of this American Boy showing of his toned torso in all the latest Rufskin campaigns. This week we caught up with model Logan Swiecki Taylor to find out a little bit more about his life in California, his fitness regime and going commando!

Tell us a bit about yourself, where do you live and where are you from?
I currently reside in beautiful, sunny San Diego CA. I’m originally from Jacksonville, Florida and have lived all over the US as I was born into a Navy family, both my mother and father were in the US Navy… YES BOTH! Super strict household!

How long have you been modelling for Rufskin and how would you describe your experience while shooting for the brand?
I have been modelling for Rufskin for just over a year now. Simply put, the experience is AMAZING… working alongside the team is incredibly easy since everyone is so down to earth and of course it’s a lot of fun.
Location shoots are my favourite because I get to explore some pretty amazing landscapes. I also enjoy shooting with other models because I have met a ton of people from all walks of life and all different parts of the globe.

What do you get up to in your free time?
Honestly, just the gym… I don’t mean to sound like a gym rat but I love it! I read an amazing quote the other day that described it perfectly: ‘the gym is a kind of wildlife preserve for bodily exertion. A preserve protects species whose habitat is vanishing everywhere, and the gym (and home gym) accommodates the survival of bodies after the abandonment of the original sites of bodily exertion.’
The gym is my place and my time. I don’t have to think. I don’t have to be connected to electronics, I don’t have to tweet, hashtag, Facebook, IG, Vine, anything. I can just be there and do my thing. I go because it make me feel good and the end result is what you see in my pictures… but that’s really just a positive side effect!

What advice would you give to those wanting to get fit? How attainable is your physique?
Just do it! Seriously. I have a BS (bachelor of science) in exercise and nutrition and the best way to go about it is to just do it, don’t over think it, don’t try to fight it, just do it… fitness is definitely something you can figure out as you go along. Maybe you start out just walking every day for 20 minutes then the next month you join a running club and the next thing you know you’re running marathons and doing good for yourself! Second piece of advice – NEVER GIVE UP.
How attainable is my physique? VERY, I believe that there’s nothing in life that I can’t achieve or for that matter that YOU can achieve. It goes back to never giving up, I’m not saying it’s easy, you definitely have to have dedication. Fitness is a journey not a destination.

How important is diet in comparison to working out?
The two are directly correlated, you can’t eat McDonald’s and workout every day and still look good. For the most part I don’t eat any fast food. And I try to avoid processed food as much as possible. Good nutrition is the key to staying healthy even if you have a light workout routine. Nutrition to physical fitness ratio is about 60:40.
Smart choices lead to other smart choices, just stop and take some time to read a nutrition label, or hell, stop and take time to walk to the grocery store instead of driving through the drive-through (more of an American habit unfortunately).

How would you describe the Rufskin brand?
Versatile, sexy, edgy and refreshing… there’s something for everyone, no matter what your background is!

Are you a boxers or briefs man?
Commando baby! In the gym I wear sports underwear though.

If you could go for a beer with anyone, dead or alive who would it be?

Well first off, I don’t like beer so it would have to be wine or a stiff drink! I want to sit down and enjoy a drink with Rob Dyrdek (famous for ‘Fantasy Factory’, ‘Rob & Big’, and he’s a DC sponsored skateboarder).
He has an amazing energy about him. He’s hilarious, fun, energetic, brilliant, a fantastic business man, self-made, selfless and an all-around good guy. He’s the perfect example of the ‘American Dream’, he started from nowhere and with nothing and has built an empire, but he built the empire on a lot of good… I’ve never read anything negative about the guy.

Tell us one thing about you that people would be surprised to know?
I can eat a lot! And by a lot I mean: I can make myself one of my famous stuffed burgers starting with 1lb of ground organic beef or turkey and stuff it with uncured bacon, shrimp, avocado and cheese, then serve it up with a nice salad and some good old fashioned baked beans and eat every last bit of it. It’s like 3lb of high quality food!

What’s in store for you in the future?
Everything and anything, just say the word and I’m there! Thankyou for the opportunity!
